Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings - fabulous!!!!
Tao Rodriguez was perfect, playing beautifully. The festival lineup brought a jamming blast of Soul to the venue with Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings. Richie Havens was just class. Over all, the festival line up was really good.
The organization of it all was rather poor. They held the gates closed until 10:30, the bands began to play at 11:30. If you were behind in line you risked the chance of not seeing the band of your choice. The vendors would have benefitted from people walking around before the music started if they could have opened the gates earlier.
It was a crush of people when they finally opened the gates, as the "stalls" you had to go through were few and narrow. The schedule had all the bands appearing on stage one hour earlier than what was posted on the website.
To drink, beer had to be purchased at the beer tent, which opened at 1 p.m. By Sunday at 1 p.m., they only had half the choices left to drink that were posted. They completely ran out of beer around 3:00.
I would love to see any of the bands but would like to have accurate info posted and earlier opening times. And Beer!
